Bobbi Jo and Erik: Engaged!

Posted on April 25, 2008

Technically, this engagement session was a “Take Two!” We first met up with these guys late last year but our plans for a fall engagement session didn’t pan out quite the way we hoped. It wound up being too cold to spend much time outside and by the time we were done, it was snowing!

So we agreed to meet up when the weather got warm to take some more shots without risk of frostbite.

The weather was definitely warmer this time around. Now if we could just do something about the wind.

Erik was a little nervous about the dip, but it’s good practice for the wedding!

Last time we were together, Bobbi Jo and Erik needed to snuggle to stay warm. This time, we made them do it anyway!

This little corner was a nice break from the wind.

After playing for a bit downtown, we went back to meet up with Onyx!

We always say our dog Walker has more energy than any other dog, but Onyx just might rival him! Thankfully, dog biscuits transformed Onyx into the perfect model.

I’m pretty sure Walker will *never* be able to do that!

Thanks for spending your Sunday morning with us guys! We’re looking forward to your big day on 06-07-08!

Kristin and Doug: Engaged!

Posted on April 25, 2008

Kristin and Doug just might get the award for our most on top of things wedding couple this year. Normally when I ask how the wedding planning is going, I get responses bordering on hysteria. But not these two! They’re still several months out and have almost everything done. And now they can cross engagement pictures off the to do list as well!

Let this be a lesson to our couples: if we see a cool floor we’re probably going to ask you to sit on it. Even if it’s the entryway to a closed furniture store!

And my love affair with the cloud wall continues. Even the fire hydrant makes me smile.

I think Kristin and Karl spotted this red door at the same moment. I love little doorways that are just made for cuddling up next to eachother.

Love guys who smile on their own without prompting!

These two really had no problem showing affection around us.

This shot required some climbing for Kristin, Doug, and Karl…which means lots of worrying by me. But it was worth it.

These guys are getting married at a very familiar address here in Northeast Wisconsin, 1265 Lombardi. That’s right! Lambeau Field. So in honor of that part of their big day, we wrapped up the session in green and gold.

Kristin and Doug, thanks for making the trip up to hang out with us. We can’t wait to be your paparazzi in August!

Andrea & Mark: Engaged!

Posted on April 25, 2008

Karl and I were very excited for Andrea and Mark’s engagement shoot. First, because it’s been a long cold winter and we’re eager to get back into the swing of things. And second, because these guys are planning long distance so we’d never met!

With some of the best weather we’ve had all year (despite grim forecasts!), we set out to get to know eachother and explore some new locations in downtown Appleton. But first we had to pay some attention to a special guest…

Meet Maddie. Isn’t she cute? When Andrea emailed to say they’d like to bring along their dog, I was all for it. I firmly believe dogs are a part of the family. I’m not sure Maddie was a big fan of the cameras, but she certainly poses well.

I discovered this window while roaming downtown before the shoot and knew right away I wanted to play with it. Love couples who are willing to humor me and my wacky ideas.

And speaking of wacky ideas…

Remember I said the weather men were forecasting rain? Well, Karl and I came prepared with a fun umbrella just in case. And even though it wasn’t raining, we found a way to use it anyway. That wall was just too cool to pass up.

After walking around downtown for a bit, we hopped in the car and drove down to the Riverfront for a little while.

I really love when couples feel comfortable being both silly and serious with us. Even though we had never met, Andrea and Mark felt like good friends by the end of our time together.

Karl gets total credit for noticing this fun wood panel…

And Andrea gets the credit for the pose right out of America’s Next Top Model.

Yup, totally fierce!

But how can you not be fierce when you’re sporting shoes like those? It is possible that I squealed a little when I spotted them.

Thanks for spending the day with us you guys! We had a blast and can’t wait for your wedding this summer.
